Waze switching to Day Mode regardless of settings - Quote

Just started on Tuesday - have Waze set to Dark Mode always - but when it connects with my vehicle the map goes to Day / LIght mode and no matter the settings it will stay on Day / Light mode until I turn the car off / disconnect. Opening Waze not in the car is fine, stays Dark mode all the time.
I have tried to "report" this but it keeps saying "these people do not work for Waze, use this link...." which takes me to the SAME reporting page I just used.

I have te same problem. Night mode doesn't work on Android Auto, it does work on the phone.
If I install an older version of Waze it works again (version 4.101.0.1), any version after that doesn't work (4.102.0.3)

Hey @DaveWulfgang2, welcome to the forum!
If you use Android, open the Android Auto app in your phone, go to settings and look for the option "Day/Night mode for maps" or something like that, then set "Night". If you use iOS, I thess there will be a similar option in the settings of Car Play.
Yes, I have also been there and tried that and it is also set to Dark (always). The one thing I did notice is that when you go into Android Auto - it does NOT have dark mode, no matter what the phone setting is. I did a report to Android Auto for that also. I have not heard back from them.

I have the opposite issue. On my phone (S24U), Waze is set to light mode and shows that. But when I plug it into my CarLink2.0 Android head unit via Android Auto, Waze comes up in dark mode. The time of day doesn't seem to matter. I'd love the time of day to play a role, but no. It's incredibly hard to see the dark mode screen during full day light hours.
Any ideas?

Have experienced the same problem in the same time frame. Anytime USB connected regardless of phone or Waze Settings the map always shows in Day Mode. If USB is disconnected maps will accept all proper settings and revert to night mode appropriately when selected to do so. Any help is appreciated.

The same problem is still reported by users in my region. The problem still continues. They state that this error did not exist in older versions and that it still persists until now from the latest new versions.

I reported this problem to Waze and a reply back said they have fixed it. This doesn't appear to have happened.
It switches to night mode when it becomes dark outside using Android Auto and back to day mode when it becomes lighter outside.
This seems to work as the automatic setting but not staying on night mode all the time as it did before the update.

Having the same problem, every where the mode is set to dark but as soon as the pixel 8 connects to Android Auto the Waze and Google maps are getting into day mode. Reached out to google and got transferred from one department to other departments four times and end they suggested me to look at the help map pages, so poor customer support from Google
I used be with Apple for a long time and moved to Android with pixel 8 and facing lot of stability issues and thinking of going back to Apple
